In short
- Basic Ledger keeps your records only on your phone. There is no account and no sign-up.
- The app sends nothing to us or to anyone else. On Android it does not even have permission to use the internet.
- We cannot see your businesses, customers, amounts or notes.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking and no crash reporting.
- A backup or PDF file leaves your phone only when you choose to share or save it.
Who we are
Basic Ledger is made by Muhammad Abbas (E Tech, etechbyabbas.com). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean the maker of the app.
What this policy covers
This policy is about the Basic Ledger app for Android and iPhone. The website etechbyabbas.com has its own Privacy Policy.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you type into the app is saved in a database inside the app's own storage on your phone:
- your businesses and customers, and the details you add for them: name, phone number, address and notes;
- your IN and OUT entries: amounts, dates and details;
- the activity log (Roznamcha), deleted entries in the Trash, and your to-do notes;
- recent calculator sums, which the app deletes by itself after 24 hours;
- your settings, and the date of your last backup.
None of this is sent to us. The app has no server, so we cannot see, read or recover your records.
Information we collect
None. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting, and it makes no network connections. It asks for no special permissions: no contacts, camera, microphone, location or photos.
Details of other people
You may save other people's details in the app, such as your customers' names and phone numbers. They stay on your phone like the rest of your records. Please only save details you are allowed to keep, and keep your phone locked.
Backups, PDFs and sharing
When you make a backup, the app creates one file with all your records. When you make a statement, it creates a PDF. These files go only where you send them: Google Drive, WhatsApp, email, a folder on your phone, or any other place you pick. From there, that service's own privacy policy applies.
A backup file is not encrypted. Anyone who has the file can read it, so keep it somewhere private.
Your phone may also include the app's data in its own backup: Google backup on Android, iCloud backup on iPhone, when you have it turned on. That backup belongs to your Google or Apple account and follows their rules.
Deleting your data
- To delete an entry, customer or business, delete it in the app. Deleted entries wait in the Trash until you empty it.
- To delete everything, uninstall the app. All its data is removed from your phone.
- Backup and PDF files you saved somewhere else stay there until you delete them.
We hold no copy of your data and there is no account, so there is nothing for us to delete.
Children
The app is not made for children under 13. It collects no information from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes what the app does with data, for example by adding an online feature, this policy is updated before that version is released, and the date at the top changes.
