In short
- Armchair Games has no account and no sign-up. Your games, scores and settings are saved only on your phone.
- We do not run a server for the app, and we cannot see your games.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use your phone's advertising ID to show and measure ads.
- Where the law asks for it (for example in the UK and the EU), Google's form asks for your choice before any ad is shown.
- Armchair Plus removes all ads. Payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card.
Who we are
Armchair Games is made by Muhammad Abbas (E Tech, etechbyabbas.com). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean the maker of the app.
What this policy covers
This policy is about the Armchair Games app for iPhone, iPad and Android. The website etechbyabbas.com has its own Privacy Policy.
What the app keeps on your phone
The app saves these things in its own storage on your phone, and nowhere else:
- games you have not finished, so you can carry on later;
- your scores and statistics, and which daily puzzles you have finished;
- your settings (text size, card colours, sound and the rest);
- whether you have Armchair Plus, and the time of the daily reminder if you turned it on.
We never receive this information. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Ads
The free version shows a short full-screen ad now and then, only between games, never while you play. You can also choose to watch a short video to open an older daily puzzle. These ads come from Google AdMob.
To show ads, Google's software in the app may collect and use:
- your phone's advertising ID (on iPhone only if you allow it when asked);
- your IP address and the general area it points to;
- basic facts about your phone, such as its model and system version;
- which ads were shown and tapped.
Google uses this to choose ads, to count them, and to stop fraud. How Google handles this data is explained in Google's Privacy Policy and on How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Where the law asks for consent (for example in the United Kingdom, the European Union and Switzerland), Google's consent form is shown before any ad, and you can change your choice any time in the app: Settings → Ad privacy choices. On iPhone you can also stop apps from asking to track you in the phone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
With Armchair Plus the app shows no ads at all.
Purchases
Armchair Plus is sold through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google). They take the payment and send the app only a note that the purchase is valid. We never see your name, card or payment details. You can cancel a subscription any time in your App Store or Google Play account.
The daily reminder
If you turn on the daily reminder, your phone itself shows one note a day at the time you chose. It is made on your phone; nothing is sent to us. You can turn it off in Settings or in your phone's notification settings.
Sharing your results
When you tap Share my results, the app opens your phone's own share menu with a short text (for example which daily puzzles you finished). Nothing is sent unless you choose where to send it.
What we do not do
- No account, no email address, no phone number, no contacts.
- No analytics and no crash reporting.
- We do not sell your data.
Children
Armchair Games is a general-audience app made for adults, especially older players. It is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Keeping or deleting your data
Your games and settings stay on your phone until you delete the app; deleting the app removes them. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete. For data that Google collected to show ads, see Google's Privacy Policy; you can also reset your phone's advertising ID in its settings.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes what it does with data, this policy is updated before that version is released, and the date at the top changes.
